HANDS ON ESTATE MANGER & HOUSEKEEPER
Newly created position in a rural village South of Stowmarket. The estate is newly purchased and newly refurbished and requires an experienced domestic couple to maintain and manage the house and grounds to a very high standard. The owners are a mature couple – semi retired with no children. Most of the time only the principals will be in residence, but occasional guests will stay once or twice per month.
They will aim to have dogs in the future so dog friendly couple are essential. A full-time gardener is employed who knows the property well.
The main house is a Grade 2 listed -8-bedroom former rectory, with 2 guest cottages on site, an outdoor pool and tennis court in approx. 50 acres of paddocks, lawns, and formal gardens.
Whilst duties are separate the couple must work well together and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar roles.
The housekeeper will be responsible for the day to day housekeeping of the main house with servicing of the cottages when required. You will manage the laundry, ironing, shoe cleaning, arrange dry cleaning, take deliveries, messages and oversee internal tradesmen. You should enjoy displaying cut flowers, working with the gardener to ensure good use of available flowers. Cooking is not essential to the role but a bonus, however you will need to assist in food preparation, shop for groceries and fresh local produce. Caters will be available for any entertaining, but you will need to oversee this and assist with dinner parties and other events.
Partner will be responsible for the overall security and day to day running of the property. You should have good maintenance skills, be capable to deal with property maintenance, clean and look after the cars, arranging servicing, repairs etc. You will arrange external services i.e. window, pool, tennis court cleaning, maintain a stock of logs, lay fires and fill log baskets, monitor oil and re-order, and manage the domestic finances, place orders, and pay bills. You will need to work with the gardener and maintain lawns, flower beds, hedges etc, maintaining garden machinery and arranging repairs and servicing. There will be some occasional driving duties for the principals to and from airport- station pickups, restaurants etc. Familiarity with horses a big plus.

A private estate situated in West Berkshire requires an honest, enthusiastic, and experienced couple to work alongside the Estate Manager and the House Manager.
One of the couple should be a confident all-rounder, with a hands-on approach. Some previous experience looking after buildings would be desirable, as would the ability to recognize faults and put into action any necessary repairs. Swimming pool and spa maintenance would be a bonus. Candidates should be willing and able to undertake the general garden/ handyperson duties as required, working alongside the existing gardening team. You should also be prepared to assist the Estate Manager with other estate tasks as and when required, e.g. airport runs, care of machinery etc. This role will develop and expand, so ideally some previous leadership /managerial and IT skills will be required.
Partner will be working as a housekeeper and should have high standards of cleaning and presentation with a keen eye for detail. The role will include day to day housekeeping, laundry, including the care of fine fabrics, silver and fine furniture, flower arranging, and general household duties, including serving at table, and the ability to cook light healthy meals when the chef is unavailable.
There is a well-established team of part time household staff to assist as required, in time the housekeeper will take on additional tasks and eventually lead the interior team as the house manager.
The estate has a welcoming environment therefore applicants must have a friendly and flexible approach to work, with a willingness to work hard, and be an integral part of a small team. The residence is a second home and can be very busy during the summer months, therefore you will be expected to work longer hours with time off in lieu during the quieter periods. Flexibility to work weekends (with time off in lieu) when needed, mainly during the summer months.

The property is large, immaculately presented- 22,000sq ft, which includes a gym, swimming pool and cinema complex. The grounds extend to 4 acres.
There is currently a large outdoor project in progress which includes landscaping of the gardens, planting, building of tennis court and hence numerous contractors to supervise and monitor.
The housekeeper will be responsible for the day to day cleaning of the rooms in use, laundry, ironing and occasional food preparation and cooking. If cooking, then it will be purely for the owners and not every day. Family and friends visit at weekends and eventually events and parties will be held, so any service skills will be beneficial.
The owners have a new baby, so a child friendly person is required as eventually there may be occasional babysitting. Mum is very hands on with the care of the child. There are no pets.
Partner will maintain the grounds and gardens, ideally you will have some knowledge of gardening, but you do not need to be a qualified horticulturist. You will need to have good maintenance skills, be IT literate and be able to learn the mechanisms for maintaining the pool area and plant room.
You will take care of the family cars and be open to driving the principal into his London office when required. You will need a good level of English as you will manage and liaise with external suppliers and contractors.
As this is a new and developing position, additional duties may become part of the role, as the house is used to its full potential eventually there may be some informal entertaining and a degree of flexibility will be required.

The principal is a businessperson who travels frequently, he has a 16yr old daughter who is at day school locally. The property is six bedrooms, with indoor spa, swimming pool and gym.
The housekeeper will take care of the interior of the property, cleaning, dealing with laundry, arranging dry cleaning, shopping and have the ability to prepare fresh, healthy dishes when required. Both principal and daughter are keen on health and fitness, so lots of fresh but simple fish, salads, soups etc.
Partner will be a keen gardener, capable of overseeing the one acre of grounds currently being landscaped. You should be able to maintain the grounds, and if you are knowledgeable to develop the gardens a big plus. You should have good level of spoken and written English, with excellent IT skills and be able to deal with contractors and suppliers.
Ideally both should drive, there will be school runs, airport runs and household shopping trips.
You will be required to care for the cars, washing and checking tyres, water etc and organise servicing and MOT’s. The principal is keen to purchase 2 Labrador puppies, so you must be dog friendly and be keen to be involved with their care and training.
This is a new position, so duties are interchangeable, you must work well together, be very well presented and be flexible to oversee security if the principal is away.

A professional and experienced couple are required for a large residence in Surrey. The couple will be proactive, self sufficient and be capable of running this 8 bedroom property, in four acres of grounds. The residence is the home of a couple who also have multiple homes both in the Uk and Internationally. You will be required to travel with the owners from time to time both in Uk and Overseas.
The residence is run to exacting standards and the position is suitable for a couple with previous high end domestic experience, a minimum of five years’ experience and with proven longevity in previous positions. This vacancy is a long term position with owners who appreciate and respect their staff.
One member of the couple will be responsible for the day to day house management and housekeeping, the other will act as chef. Roles are however interchangeable.
Between them the couple will be managing the day to day running of this beautiful property, acting as estate and household manager, serving at table and dealing with front of house duties, overseeing contractors and security, cooking and serving and undertaking general maintenance around the house and grounds.
Chef will need to have an international repertoire and be happy to cook for a minimum of 2 adults on a daily basis with regular entertaining both formal and informal lunches / dinners and have an innovative palate. Sourcing and planning seasonal menu’s and using fresh local produce. You must be happy around pets as the family have 3 dogs.
Both must drive and be willing to undertake some driving duties when required, there are numerous cars on the property and you will on occasion be asked to do an airport run, shopping, errands and evening driving now and again.

Large country house in a glorious setting, part residence property of a young couple with one child and a second one due in the summer. Nannies are employed.
An experienced couple is required who can between them take ownership of the day to day running of this property including the house and grounds. The housekeeper will have cleaning support during the principals “in residence” periods and there is grounds and maintenance support available too.
You will need a keen eye for detail, have excellent housekeeping and laundry skills and be able to maintain the wardrobes. The property is modern with high tech support systems, there are 4 acres of grounds with stables and outbuildings which include gym, pool and sports facilities. The gardens are lawns, hedges and flower beds, mainly a garden maintenance role.
There are 4 cars to care for and you must be willing to wash and polish the cars up to 4 times per day when in use, the principals are extremely particular about the cars. You will refuel, organise MOT and service and ensure that oil, water tyres etc are all checked regularly. There will be some airport runs and driving to events occasionally.
Ideally one of the couple will have table service skills and be able to meet and greet guests, serve drinks etc.
During the periods in residence the working days are longer and demanding, but time back can be taken and the role becomes more of a caretaking role when the principals are not in residence. Therefore flexibility, ability to cope under pressure and stamina is essential to this role.
