Experienced domestic couple is required for long term client in Gstaad, Switzerland. This is a part time residence of a single gentleman employer (with occasional visits from extended family) in residence for approx. 6 months each year. As a couple you will oversee the day to day management of this busy residence and the care of the interior between you. The household has a local House Manager who managers all aspects of the house.
The cook/housekeeper will be hands on, with support of 2 live-in maids and a daily laundress. You should be a very good family cook to dinner party standard as this will be your main duty when the principal and or his guests are in residence, cooking fresh family meals, shopping and running errands--confident to cook for the staff each day and the principals and any family or guests when required.
Partner will primary act as Butler, you should be confident with service and front of house duties. You should have experience in formal and informal food/drink service.
Both of the couple will be responsible for the security of the property, ensuring alarms are set, doors and windows are locked, and any external contractors supervised. Teamwork in this role is essential.
A travelling butler, personal assistant is also employed and will always be present when the principal is in residence.
A chauffeur is employed but occasional driving duties may be required, i.e. station or airport runs, shopping etc.
You will need to be dog friendly and between you and the team share the responsibility of feeding and walking the dog (Labrador). The property tends to be very busy over Christmas and during school holidays with family and friends visiting.

Experienced Domestic Couple

Pro active, self sufficient and experienced, energetic couple required to run and manage this part time residence in Rural Oxfordshire. The property is a large country house in its own grounds which has recently been refurbished and is easy to care for. The young family and their dog visit mainly at weekends and some holidays.
Duties are interchangeable between the couple, working well together is key in a proactive and motivated manner. Between the couple you will take care of the daily running and maintenance of the property, this will include day to day cleaning, laundry, and wardrobe management. When the family are in residence fresh simple family cooking will be required. A lot of produce is grown in the gardens, so the ability to make fresh homemade soups, freeze and make preserves utilising the seasonal vegetables is a big plus. If the housekeeper enjoys being in the garden growing vegetables, there is plenty of time to do so.
The gardens are well designed, so a hobby/ maintenance gardener with ability to mow, prune and weed is required. Professional gardening team is employed, so a good team player is essential.
You will be responsible for arranging and liaising with contractors, liaising with the family and the family office, so a good level of computer skills are required.
The principal has a large car collection which any car enthusiast will enjoy to care for. There will be occasional driving for the principal which may include a very occasional evening drive but always with prior agreement.

A beautiful country house and estate in Rural Hampshire requires a self sufficient, experienced domestic couple to manage the day to day running of a 7 bedroom property with outbuildings and cottages set within numerous acres of gardens, paddocks, grounds and let farmland. The family are in residence only part of the year and the rest of the time abroad. The role requires a practical, hands on approach and will suit very well organised and efficient candidates with a very strong work ethic. An interest and willingness to assist with basic horse care occasionally would be preferred, although a groom is employed.
A full time gardener and part time cleaner are also employed.

Country loving, self-sufficient and pro active couple is required for a traditional period farmhouse, 5 bedroom 4 bathroom in 2 acres of gardens.
This is a weekend and holiday home of a professional couple whose main residence and business is in Central London. They live an informal lifestyle, arrive on Friday afternoon and leave Sunday evening. The property will be used by family members and their guests, mainly as a relaxing weekend retreat, but occasionally during major holiday times i.e. Easter, Summer and Christmas, larger numbers of family including children may visit.
You will be responsible for the day to day running of the property and grounds, covering all aspects of housekeeping, cleaning, washing and ironing, food shopping, household provisioning, gardening, household maintenance and overseeing contractors etc.
When in residence the housekeeper will prepare lunch and dinner for the principals and any guests, good fresh healthy home cooking, lots of fish, vegetables, variety of salads mainly based on Mediterranean style dishes including vegetarian options. Although the principals like to entertain family and friends, all entertaining is informal and no more than 8-10 people. For any formal entertaining outside caterers will be available.
Partner will be responsible for the day to day management of this small estate, which will include the gardens and greenhouse, vegetable garden, lawns, flower beds, pond and small area of woodland. Other duties will include general property maintenance, hence good DIY skills are required. There is an outdoor swimming pool and tennis court to care for, cars to fuel and clean and occasional driving to the local station and airport occasionally. A major refurbishment programme is planned and the couple will be required to oversee contractors, manage the works and oversee security. Good communication skills are essential. The housekeeper will take care of the interior of the property, cleaning, dealing with laundry, arranging dry cleaning, shopping and have the ability to prepare fresh, healthy dishes when required. Both principal and daughter are keen on health and fitness, so lots of fresh but simple fish, salads, soups etc.
Partner will be a keen gardener, capable of overseeing the one acre of grounds currently being landscaped. You should be able to maintain the grounds, and if you are knowledgeable to develop the gardens a big plus. Lovely long-term vacancy for a country-loving traditional cook/housekeeper to join this fun, high-energy, informal family at their weekend country farmhouse, on a large estate near Marlborough.
The family of five includes 3 small children between ages 6 and 2yrs and they have a dog. They usually arrive on Friday and return to London on Sunday evening during school term-time, but during holidays will spend more time there and will also entertain family and friends. During the holidays, the children’s nanny will also accompany the family. Both parents are completely hands-on with the children, but you may occasionally be asked to babysit and essential that you love being around small children.
Other duties will include menu planning and superb cooking for small gatherings (up to ten people). Breakfast, lunch, and dinners will be expected on a daily basis: generally cooking for between 2 and 4 adults and 2-6 children, but with occasional lunch or supper parties and especially Sunday lunches. The employers enjoy fresh and healthy cuisine with variety and of different tastes and styles. You need to have a natural flair and love for cooking, enjoy trying new recipes and a genuine passion for cooking, but you do not need to be a qualified chef.
The garden has a lovely vegetable patch so if you enjoy gardening then a big plus. You will need to provision and use local suppliers, there is a superb butcher and fishmonger locally and farm produce available for fresh ingredients.
This is an informal home and the family are neat and tidy people and very hands-on, so although the housekeeping role is part of the duties, when the family is in residence, cooking takes priority. The usual day to day housekeeping – cleaning, laundry, and shopping etc. all managed easily for a well-organized person.
There is a small furnished 2-bedroom cottage available. The daily working hours are 8.00am to 6.30pm with one and half hours off for lunch. 2 days off per week (usually Monday & Tuesday).

Full Time position for an experienced, flexible housekeeper for a young International professional couple with one small child and nanny.
The property will shortly start an extensive renovation project to a very high standard and the housekeeper will maintain it, in prepared state at all times. Our clients are looking for a responsible, discreet and flexible candidate who will oversee and run the household; keeping it in immaculate condition at all times. You will work closely with the house manager when the family are in residence. When the renovations are complete additional housekeeping assistance will be provided.
You will be responsible for liaising with gardeners, contractors, window cleaners, etc. Duties will include: day to day housekeeping, occasional shopping and provisioning for the household, laundry: you must have excellent laundry skills and be able to launder delicate fabrics, as well as excellent ironing skills and be able to fix a hem or sew a button, basic lady’s maid skills: wardrobe care and packing, floristry skills. This is a relatively informal, fun household but you will be required to wear a simple uniform. This will be a 5 day working week with 2 days off when the family is not in residence; when they are in residence you will be required to be flexible and adjust your working days and hours. Some weekend working will be required.
