ESTATE MANAGER - LIVE OUT
WEST BERKSHIRE - NR READING
Essential Requirements: Previous private house experience, strong maintenance skills, Driver’s licence, Flexibility
An enthusiastic ‘Hands-on’ property maintenance manager required for a small but complex private estate in West Berkshire. The candidate must be willing to work alongside existing management and staff as part of a team approach to the overall responsibilities of the estate. The responsibilities of the maintenance manager are many and varied, however, good systems are in place and you will be well supported by existing long-term employees.
Engineering/building experience essential as the property has complex river sluice control systems and has a comprehensive building/renovation program starting this year. Organisation of maintenance schedules and a proactive approach towards maintenance in order to ensure the property is always prepared for use. Familiarity with Word and Excel as well as writing emails, keeping accounts and regular reporting to the US family office will be required.
The estate has a warm and welcoming environment therefore applicants must have a friendly and flexible approach to work with willingness to work hard and be an integral part of a small friendly team. The residence is a secondary home and can be very busy during the summer, therefore you will be expected to work longer hours with time off in lieu during the quieter periods. Experience of working in an Estate environment type setting would also be useful.
You need to be somebody who is happy to work both outdoors and indoors all year round on an estate where flexibility and a common-sense approach to work are required. Candidates should be willing and able to undertake the general handyman duties as required and be prepared to assist other estate staff with tasks such as gardening when needed.
Full security screening and references will be required before the vacancy is offered to the successful candidate. Non-smoker preferred. Negotiable salary based on experience. (CC3819)
