A lovely new position for an experienced domestic couple to work at a Grade I listed property in Derbyshire. This is an 8-bedroom property and is the permanent residence to a family of four (2 adult children who come and go). We require a professional couple who have previously worked in a private residence.
The housekeeper will be required to care for the day-to-day cleaning and tidying of the property as well as laundry, ironing and mending. We require the housekeeper to have the ability to care for fine furniture and fabrics with great attention to detail. You should be a self-starter with the initiative to work in an organised and proactive manner. Cooking is not required, however if you have basic cooking skills and / or the desire to prepare basic meals or assist in the kitchen when needed that would be a bonus. There is a daily housekeeper that works 2 mornings per week, so essential that you work well together. You will be required to work some weekends and help with dinner parties. Occasional shopping may be required.
Partner will work as a groundsman / handyperson/ security / driver capacity and should have good DIY and property maintenance skills. Ideally you will have some gardening knowledge and be able to mow the lawn and use machinery. Additional duties will include managing the security of the property, driving duties including picking up guests, caring for the cars, and general ad hoc duties around the house.
You may be needed to help with work on the estate
It would be a bonus if you have service skills and can lay the table, meet and greet guests, etc.
There are 5 dogs at the property and when the family travel or are out, you will be required to walk and feed the dogs, so essential you are dog lovers and feel at home in the country.
Salary negotiable based on experience. Self-contained 2-bedroom flat within the main house (recently refurbished). 5-day working week with flexibility to cover occasional weekends. Both need a clean driving licence. Ideally No pets, although a small dog may be considered and No dependants. (CC3734)
