Housekeeper
Maintenance Groundsman/Handyperson/Security
RURAL HAMPSHIRE - NR Basingstoke.
Essential Requirements – Previous experience working in a domestic environment. Clean driving licence. Flexible. Strictly Non smoker.
Family of four which includes 2 teenage children at boarding school/University, currently using this property as a permanent residence, in the long term it will revert back to being their weekend home.
The position requires a flexible couple who can demonstrate self sufficiency and autonomy.
The house has eight bedrooms and six bathrooms, and is completely refurbished and easy to keep immaculate. The housekeeper should have an eye for detail, be able to provision and manage the household and undertake the day to day housekeeping duties.
Between you, you will also manage external contractors, deal with suppliers, deal with household expenses and ideally have basic computer skills.
You may be asked to assist the principal with food preparation and possibly some light cooking, but this is not essential. Any entertaining will be for family and friends and on a casual basis.
Partner to care for swimming pool and be able to tend the terraces, patio and undertake any maintenance duties around the property. You will need to lay and tend fires, manage the heating system and deal with any indoor maintenance as required.
There are large areas of lawns and at least 2 days per week will be spent cutting grass in the summer and 2 days dealing with leaves etc during winter months. Previous experience of using a chain saw and large pieces of garden equipment is essential. Contract gardeners are also employed.
Security of the property will therefore be part of the role. Ideally the couple should have their own hobbies and interests as this vacancy does not always allow for 2 people to keep busy for the whole week.
Salary Negotiable depending on experience. Lovely one bedroom (large) self contained accommodation, two days off per mid week and use of a car. Sorry no dependent children or pets. (CC1538)
