ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS – Flexible proactive couple with experience working for a busy informal family.
Genuine Animal and country lovers. Child friendly. BOTH must drive. Previous basic equine experience a big plus. Strong DIY skills capable to use large power tools.
Informal family of 5 are looking for a well organised couple with a “can do attitude”, who enjoy working in a family environment with children and animals and share a genuine love for countryside living.This is a busy, but very well organised household with 3 children at home and 1 at boarding school.
The property is a large country house ( approx. 10,000 sq ft) with various outbuildings in 15 acres, in a rural village in North Yorkshire. The family seek a long term couple who will share the daily running of the house and grounds.
Domestic responsibilities:- Cleaning to a high standard throughout the home
- Laundry, washing & ironing and wardrobe management
- Care and cleaning of high-quality furnishings, fine art, and fabrics
- Provisioning and household organisation and management
- Overseeing 3rd parties including window cleaners, plumbers, electricians, dry cleaners, to ensure household is constantly in full working order
- Assistance with occasional food shopping.
- Occasional help with the children and babysitting.
- Occasional school runs, must be a confident driver
- Help with caring for the family’s pets ( 2 dogs, 1 cat )
- Pet sit and house-sit when the family are away
Grounds/General Property Maintenance- Property maintenance and general maintenance work throughout the house and grounds
- Grounds and garden maintenance – 15 acres include paddock /pasture care, topping and lawn mowing. Flowerbed weeding and general grounds maintenance.
- Woodland management, logging, trimming and clearing over grown pathways and woodland walk.
- Use and care of all machinery –confident with power tools, ride on mower, tractor, chainsaw, strimmer, hedge cutters etc
- Wash and clean cars, check tyre pressure, refuel, oil and water.
- Occasional Driving the family (school runs/airport runs/evening events)
- Overseeing 3rd parties including oil tanks, cess pit, car services/MOT
- Tennis court, swimming pool maintenance
- Assistance with the care of the family pets which will eventually include horse/pony. The ability to turn out, feed and muck out the stable, care for the horse arena/ menege a plus.
- Pet sit and house sit when the family are away.
SALARY in the region of £65,000 Gross depending on experience. Both must drive, one well behaved pet considered. (CC4075)
