Housekeeper- Family Cook- Maintenance Person-Driver-Estate Security
Rye – East Sussex
Essential Requirements: Previous Private House Experience, Animal and Child Friendly, Strong DIY/Maintenance Skills, Excellent level of cleaning and laundry, good team players, flexible and proactive, self-sufficient, able make decisions.
Newly purchased, weekend and holiday home, for a young family with 5 children between 8 and 1yrs ( Nanny employed). This gorgeous, very large country property is Grade 2 listed, recently renovated and refurbished to a very high standard and is set in approx. 50 acres of gardens, parkland and woodland. The family also have homes abroad so are not in residence every weekend or school holiday.
The housekeeper should have a detailed eye for cleaning, capable to deal with all family laundry including care of delicates and fine fabrics and ensure guest rooms are prepared within the main house and the guest cottages.
You will be responsible for food shopping and household provisioning, arranging, and overseeing contractors for servicing and maintenance of household services.
Cooking for the family will be required when they are in residence, fresh healthy dishes, utilising fresh produce from the gardens as and when available.
Additional daily housekeeping support is available and when the family visit, an additional housekeeper will travel with them. You will be required to supervise the daily cleaners and work together to ensure is immaculate at all times.
Partner will be required to have excellent maintenance and DIY skills capable to repair fences, deal with small carpentry/ painting repairs for the main house, cottages and grounds. There is a lot of wood which will require varnishing, painting and decorating, basic plumbing and all general property maintenance on a day to day basis. Professional and specialist contractors are available, which you will need to build a rapport with.
You will care for the swimming pool, tennis court, pressure wash pathways and patio areas. Weekly cleaning of the cars and the coordination of external contractors for boiler servicing, fire safety equipment, building services engineers are all part of this role. There are 2 gardeners employed, one of whom knows the property very well.
Both of the couple will need to be both children and dog friendly, strictly Non Smokers with excellent English. Drivers essential.
SALARY Circa £65-70,000 Gross per annum. Separate house with small garden available. 2 days off mid week, weekends if the family are not in residence.
