HOUSE MANAGER/BUTLER & COOK/CHEF/HOUSEKEEPER

Residential Position
Essential requirements: Previous experience within an historic residence or large private country residence. Well organised, forward thinking, proactive and personable team players with good communication skills. Experienced confident cook or a chef who is also willing to undertake housekeeping when not cooking. Discreet, flexible, child & dog friendly and both must drive.
An experienced domestic couple is required for a beautiful, Grade 1 listed property in Devon. Looking for a service-oriented indoor domestic Couple to manage the household and a small team of indoor staff
The young family of 3, are flexible on how you share the duties, but the main key areas are house management, service, and cooking. You will oversee a team of 4 Housekeepers who are responsible for most of the cleaning, but you will still need to maintain a very hands-on approach.
The roles are for a Cook/House Manager and Butler/House Manager. The house is home to the principals, who welcome guests and visitors throughout the year. The house and gardens being open to the public during summer season and events are planned too.
Both roles will be key to managing the smooth running of the property, including general upkeep and security, whilst providing a quality service to the principals and guests.
You will both be part of a small, friendly, and collaborative team who are invested in the daily and long-term running of the Estate.
Duties to include but not limited to:
House Manager
Focusing on the day-to-day running of the household, maintaining a keen eye for detail for any discrepancies and liaising with the on-site maintenance team for fixes, while taking a proactive approach to simple tasks such as changing light bulbs. As a live-in member of staff, security will be a priority.Butler / Service
When guests are in residence, you will adopt a front-of-house role, politely and respectfully engaging with them, providing a warm welcoming environment, serving drinks, managing the cellar, and generally ensuring their stay is an enjoyable and memorable one.Cooking
During periods where there are no guests, you will prepare relaxed family meals. This role encompasses regular dinner parties ( 8-10 guest some informal some formal) and event cooking; as such, the candidate for this role will need to be a confident and passionate Cook. Assistance is available within the kitchen in the form of the Housekeepers, and an external Chef is available for larger events. Development Training is offered.Housekeeping
You will manage a team of 4 Housekeepers, ensuring the property is kept to an excellent standard. A hands-on approach is a must; however, when guests are in situ, cooking will be the priority. The property is Grade 1 listed with many high-end and antique furnishings requiring very special care and attention.Salary & Accommodation
- A lovely large self-contained, 2-bed apartment within the main residence, accessed by own private entrance. Separate lounge, kitchen and private driveway. The apartment can be either unfurnished or furnished.
- Car provided for work purposes. Own required for personal use.
- A well-behaved dog will be welcome, sorry dependent children cannot be accommodated. Strictly NO cats and non-smokers essential.
- Salary £80,000 DOE – Working an average of 40 hrs per week, with weekends off out of season but flexibility for longer hours and weekend working when required.
