Cook – Housekeeper – Driver - Grounds and Household Maintenance.
Hampshire/Berkshire Border - Nr Basingstoke
Essential Requirements – long term position. Clean driving licence. Experienced, professional couple, with great attention to detail, proactive and discreet. Confident family cook who enjoys cooking, can follow recipes and care for the kitchen. Capable to work as part of a team who are all long-term employees.
A newly created vacancy for an experienced, energetic and flexible couple to join an established team on a small estate 50 mins from Central London. This is a 6-bedroom property in 200 acres with outbuildings including formal gardens (which are sometimes open to the public), woodland, pasture and a wonderful kitchen garden. This is the primary residence of the principals, but they do travel frequently.
All duties for the couple are interchangeable.
Cooking – Meal planning, preparation and cooking of fresh, healthy family meals. There is access to a large kitchen/vegetable garden for seasonal produce so lots of soups, vegetables and fruits are enjoyed. Weekly shopping of groceries, provisioning and organisation of household supplies. Family and friends visit on a regular basis and the principals enjoy entertaining. However, if required for larger or more formal entertaining, catering staff can be brought in and you will be required to assist with service.
Housekeeping - To include assistance with daily cleaning, washing and ironing, care of antiques, fine furniture/ fabrics. Wardrobe management experience is a big plus, polishing shoes, ability to lay and serve at table is required. Care of flowers and plants.
Driving – Airport runs, meeting guests and occasional evening driving. General care of the cars ie fuel, checking tyres and valeting etc.
Gardening and Property Maintenance – Assisting with general garden maintenance, working alongside the garden team. Assist with maintenance of the kitchen garden and greenhouse. General property maintenance and organisation.
The principals have 2 small dogs & chickens who need to be fed. There are horses on the estate, but no care is required.
An opportunity to travel with the principals to other properties (Belgium, Italy & Switzerland) is optional.
SALARY – competitive, depending on experience. Suitable accommodation will be provided depending on the couples’ needs. 5 day working week with 2 days off, flexibility to cover some weekends will be required. Non-smokers, excellent checkable references and enhanced DBS Check will be required. Well behaved dog welcome. ( CC3910)
