RURAL SOUTH OXFORDSHIRE
Essential Requirements – Good communication skills, clean driving licence. Flexible, self starters, team players. Ability to deal with external contractors, engineers, deliveries, pet feeding and security checks. Passionate cook to dinner party standard.
Professional couple with 6 grown up children, 3 cats and 4 chickens, currently require an experienced domestic couple to join the team caring for this large country manor house in 11 acres of both formal and informal gardens and woodland. There is also a 3 bedroom guest cottage, garden office and builders on site currently renovating additional outbuildings.
The youngest child will shortly leave school and go on a gap year, 2 are at University and the elder ones live independently. The principals hope to travel a lot more and hence the couple will need to take responsibility for the property in their absence. The family also have an apartment in London and a holiday home in Cornwall.
Housekeeper should be experienced, with excellent cleaning and laundry skills, have an eye for detail and have experience with caring for Antiques, fine fabrics, art work and delicate silverware, china and glass.
The role requires a passionate cook who actively enjoys Vegetarian and fish cookery, ideally can initiate new dishes and try new recipes. A kitchen garden provides fresh vegetables, fruits and salad items, so making chutneys, jams etc all part of the role. Meat is rarely served, unless for a dinner party.
A part time cleaner is also employed 3 days per week.
Partner will work as part of the outdoor gardening and maintenance team, duties encompassing maintenance gardening, general property maintenance, wood management ie logging and fire laying. Path clearing, care of outdoor furniture, car washing and ensuring servicing and MOT’s are scheduled.
There will be occasional driving duties, airport runs, shopping and errands.
Indoor maintenance to include cleaning indoor windows, high level cleaning to assist the housekeepers and any minor repairs.
Full Time Salary circa £65-70,000 Gross – currently one bedroom cottage available which will be made 2 bedroom by the end of this year. This vacancy can also be Live out for a local couple and 3-4 days per week also considered ( salary pro rata)
BOTH MUST DRIVE, have clean licence and car. Occasional weekend/bank holiday working will be required but time off given in lieu. (CC4034)
