RESIDENTIAL BUTLER/HOUSEPERSON/SECURITY (PART TIME)
BARNET, HERTFORDSHIRE
Essential requirements: Experience as a Butler/Housekeeper in private home or 5* hotel. Flexible. Simple Cooking experience, enjoy working as part of a small team of staff and willingness to fit into any staff members shoes as required in an emergency. Driver with own transport.
An experienced Butler/House Person is required for a private estate based in Barnet, Hertfordshire. This is a part-time role.
Duties include:
- Housekeeping/Front of house surge support when needed
- Overall security of the house during weekends
- Opening and closing the house when required
- Silver and wooden furniture polishing
- Running of all taps, baths and flushing of all loos in the mansion in Principals absences.
- Valet duties when Principal is in residence – polishing of shoes, shirt/trouser pressing/maintaining Principal’s wardrobes in conjunction with the Housekeeper
- Visual scan of each room of the mansion and note of any issues (check lights all work, curtains hanging correctly, rugs straight etc.)
- Film Steward support as required. (The Mansion is used for filming regularly.)
- Support the Housekeeper with larger or more ornate areas in the grounds and residence.
- Stock checks and reviewing item use-by dates
- Wine cellar clearing/sort as directed by Principal/Estate Manager
- Serving/helping at dinner parties/looking after guests-Butler service
- Simple Cooking when required (Steak and salad, roast a chicken with crisp vegetables, soup and a sandwich.
Lovely job in beautiful surroundings for an experienced private service professional with all round skills, based in an historic Mansion. You will be working a 3-day week, (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) at a generous salary, with medical insurance and additional days paid at £150 per day.
Own self-contained accommodation available which can be used by the successful candidate as permanent home if desired. Working with a full team of staff in an historic residence where the principal is in part-residence. (CC4330)
