SENIOR HOUSEKEEPER
NR NEWBURY -BERKSHIRE
5days Monday to Friday with flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings when principals are in residence.
9am -3pm
Open to Live out or Live in applications.
Essential Requirements: Previous Private House Housekeeping/Laundry Experience, Friendly, Flexibility to cover evenings and weekends during the year when the family are in residence and attention to detail, well presented. Good communication skills. Driver with own car for personal use essential
A superb new vacancy in a rural location. This is a part residence property of a warm, down-to-earth family seeking a reliable and proactive housekeeper and household co-ordinator to oversee the smooth running of this beautiful residence close to Newbury.
We are looking for a candidate ideally with previous private house experience who has excellent attention to detail, who is proactive and flexible.
- Daily cleaning and presentation of the interior to high standards.
- Care of specialist finishes – Marble, Wood, Granite etc
- Making beds and changing linens, preparing guest rooms, arranging flowers etc.
- Sorting, washing, unloading laundry – confident with delicate fabrics and handwashing.
- Ironing to a high standard.
- Managing household supplies, ordering, deliveries and local errands
- Kitchen prep and informal table service when in residence. Simple cooking a plus but not essential.
- Monitoring of maintenance requirements.
- Organise external contractors, oversee interior repairs and general maintenance.
- Preparation of the property prior to family visits.
- Conducting property checks and ensuring the home remains secure, organised and guest ready.
This vacancy is open to both Live in and Live out local candidates.
Salary Negotiable between £40-45,000 Gross depending on previous experience. 3 Bedroom cottage either part or fully furnished. 2 days off per week. Occasional weekend working will be required but planned well in advance. Driver essential, car for business use provided. Partner to follow own occupation and well behave dog considered.
